Uterine artery embolization using gelatin sponge particles for symptomatic focal and diffuse adenomyosis

Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of uterine artery embolization (UAE) with gelatin sponge particles for symptomatic focal and diffuse adenomyosis. Materials Methods: This was a retrospective study conducted between January 2014 December 2019. All women underwent UAE adenomyosis without leiomyomas. Gelatin were used in all cases. Patients assessed symptom control, changes volume, degree tumor necrosis on magnetic resonance (MR) imaging. Results: One hundred sixty-three patients UAE. There statistically significant differences bleeding score, pain volume at three months after (P < 0.001, P respectively). Complete occurred 66.9% cases Proportion complete significantly different compared = 0.023). Symptom recurrence 20.6% 12-month follow-up. Focal had no recurrent menorrhagia dysmenorrhea.
